Daphne Guinness on Food: Who Needs It

Heiress and fashion icon Daphne Guinness is raising eyebrows this week as the subject of a profile in this week's issue of The New Yorker magazine.
In it, Daph displayed her affinity for style over comfort.
Put more succinctly, she'll starve herself to look good.

The article describes Guinness at a David-Bowie inspired photo shoot, where she didn't mind taking pains to make her fashion look original:
"To incarnate Ziggy Stardust, she let a stylist place an enormous metallic collar around her neck; the stylist apologized for any discomfort.
"Are you kidding?" Guinness said. 'Uncomfortable is the name of the game.'"
During the shoot, she also declined to mix food and fashion, because, according to the heiress, the two are kind of mutually exclusive.
"Teresa Alfonso, Guinness's personal assistant, tried to get her to eat some of the pasta that had been prepared for the production team."
"'If I eat, I can't work,' Guinness, who had been subsisting on a very healthy diet of Red Bull and Ensure, said. 'I'll eat when I'm dead.'"
Guinness is the subject of an exhibition at the Museum at F.I.T., featuring clothes and accessories from her massive personal collection.
